Gyan Setu Think Tank organized a special lecture “Being a Citizen Warrior” on 15th October, 2024 at Post Graduate Govt. College for Girls, Sector 42, Chandigarh. The special lecture was organized for the NCC Cadets of the College. The lecture was delivered by Lt. Gen. K. J. Singh (retd.), Convener of the Gyan Setu Think Tank.
Key points emphasized in the lecture for the female NCC cadets included:
- Empowerment and Leadership: Importance of women in leadership roles within NCC and the armed forces. Challenges and opportunities faced by female cadets and how to overcome them. Leadership qualities like courage, integrity and empathy.
- Role of Women in National Security: Significance of women’s contribution to national security and defence with historical and contemporary examples of their roles in military and paramilitary forces. Changing dynamics of warfare and increasing importance of women’s skills and perspectives.
- Citizen-Soldier Concept: Explanation and relevance of Citizen Soldier concept in today’s world. Responsibilities and Privileges of being a citizen-soldier. Role of NCC as a platform for growth and development.
Apart from the NCC cadets, the lecture was attended by the faculty of the college.
