Gyan Setu Think Tank and the Chandigarh Citizen’s Foundation (CCF), in association with ICICI Bank Ltd., successfully concluded the veteran’s outreach program, “Operation Cybersecure: Defending Yourself Against Online Threats,” held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the PWD Rest House in Sector 1, Panchkula.
The high-impact seminar was designed to empower veterans and their families with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to navigate and counter the growing landscape of online fraud and cybercrime.
The event was graced by General V.P. Malik, COAS (retd.), as the Chief Guest, who highlighted the critical importance of digital vigilance, especially among senior citizens and former defense personnel who may often be targeted by sophisticated scams. He stressed that cyber awareness is the new form of self-defense in the digital age.
The distinguished panel featured Maj. Gen. Ajeet Bajpai (retd.) and Sh. Dildeep Singh, along with officers from the Cyber Crime Police, who provided deep insights into current threat vectors. A core highlight of the seminar was the session on Practical Case Study Forensics, where real-life fraud scenarios were analyzed to illustrate the modus operandi of scammers. Attendees were also provided with a practical “Toolkit for Users to Defeat Scammers,” offering actionable, step-by-step guidance on securing digital finances and personal data.
“The overwhelming participation confirms the pressing need for this kind of focused training,” said a spokesperson for the Chandigarh Citizen’s Foundation. “Our goal was to demystify complex cyber threats and provide concrete, protective measures. We are committed to continuing this vital outreach to ensure our veteran community remains secure and protected.”
The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony for the speakers and a high tea, fostering a valuable interaction between the organizing bodies, panelists, and attendees.
