Gyan Setu Think Tank in collaboration with Department of Defence & National Security Studies, Panjab Universtiy organized a round table conference – “Jammu & Kashmir: The Way Forward” on June 02, 2017 . The conference was held at ICSSR Complex, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The conference was attended by Gen. V. P. Malik ( former Chief of Army Staff of Indian Army), Lt. Gen. D.S. Hooda (former General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian army’s Northern Command), K. C. Singh (former Indian ambassador to Iran and UAE), Lt. Gen. K. J. Singh (former general officer commanding-in-chief of Western Command), Prof. Arun Grover (VC of Panjab Universtiy) among others from Defence Services and academia.
The eminent participants at the conference discussed the current situation in Kashmir and the way forward to resolve all conflicts in the Kashmir region. Kashmir issue was discussed with different Strategic, Political and Social perspectives.
