Gyan Setu Think Tank, in collaboration with Military Literature Festival Society organized a Gyan Setu-Punjabi University-MiliLitfest Society Seminar on the 1965 Indo-Pak War was a significant commemorative event held on October 28, 2025, at Punjabi University, Patiala. The seminar was presided over by Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, the current General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Western Command.<\/p>\n
The event was organised to mark the Diamond Jubilee (60th Anniversary) of India’s victory in the 1965 Indo-Pak War. Lt Gen Katiyar delivered the inaugural address, describing the 1965 war as a “glorious chapter” in Indian military history that provided crucial lessons in joint Army-Air Force coordination and strategic planning. He reaffirmed the Indian Army\u2019s preparedness for modern aggression, drawing parallels between the 1965 conflict and recent operations, such as Operation Sindoor.<\/p>\n
The seminar included insights from various veterans and academic experts, including Lt Gen Kamal Jit Singh (former Army Commander), who noted the event was a “great learning experience”.<\/p>\n
