The Gyan Setu Think Tank has officially set a new benchmark in holistic education with the launch of its ambitious Skill Building initiative for Personality Development. This program is strategically aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes moving beyond rote learning toward the comprehensive development of a student’s character and soft skills.

The event was organized on 14 August 2025 at PGGC, Sector 11, Chandigarh

A Unique Mentorship Model
The heart of this initiative lies in its “Veteran Scholar Warriors.” By tapping into the vast reservoir of experience held by retired military leaders—individuals who possess both tactical grit and academic depth—Gyan Setu is offering students a mentorship model unlike any other. These veterans bring a unique blend of discipline, strategic thinking, and ethical leadership to the hallowed halls of the Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG-11) in Chandigarh.

The Inaugural Session
The program kicked off with a high-impact inaugural session led by Lt Gen KJ Singh (Retd). Known for his charismatic leadership and profound intellectual insights, Gen Singh provided the students with more than just a lecture; he offered a masterclass in resilience. He focused on the nuances of navigating modern professional challenges while maintaining the steadfast integrity of a “scholar-warrior.”

Impact and Response
The organizers and faculty were reportedly “overwhelmed” by the reception. The sheer volume of participation and the intensity of the student engagement underscored a vital truth: today’s youth are hungry for authentic, real-world guidance that textbooks often miss. This initiative doesn’t just prepare students for jobs; it prepares them for life, proving that when the discipline of the military meets the ambition of academia, the result is truly transformative.
